Saab 900 used an engine developed by triumph for Saab. It uses K-Jetronic fuel injection on 8 valve versions and electronic fuel injection developed by lucas on 16v versions.

So a wierd rare turbo swedish car with with a british engine and fuel injection yeah these sound like fun.

I still want one.

Before that, they had a Ford V4 and before that what was originally a DKW two stroke triple.

Wiki :

In 1972 Saab begun domestic production of the engine, because of reliability problems with the Triumph-made units.

Haha.

But Saabs aren’t fun to drive. You can get quirkiness and fun at the same time yaknow.

Yep :) and later on (during the 99 production run) they did a fairly comprehensive internal re-design fixing a lot of the issues with the engine (which wasn’t actually designed by Triumph, it was designed by Ricardo. Actually, the worst part of the design, the slanted head studs, was dictated by Saab so they could install the head and cam together on the production line).

I kind of hope they still kept the bellhousing pattern the same so I might be able to hook one up to an LT77 and put it into a Spitfire :)
